MiTransfer Pathways Anticipated Timeline - Phase II (2018-2019)

Phase II of the project is convening faculty in the following four programs to develop statewide multi-institutional associate to bachelor's degree transfer pathway agreements:

  • Communication (general)

  • Computer Science (general)

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Social Work

The timeline below outlines the expected milestones in this project.

Identify and orient participating faculty members (Fall 2018)

Academic leaders on campuses across Michigan have designated institutional transfer liaisons as well as faculty representatives in four Phase II pathways. With input from a representative team of institutional experts, project staff have developed and loaded orientation materials for participating faculty and staff online at www.mitransfer.net

MiTransfer Pathways Faculty Summit: Phase 2, Meeting 1 (November 2, 2018)

On November 2, 2018, the first Phase II MiTransfer Pathways Summit will be held in which designated faculty will work collaboratively across the discipline to begin to identify a set of courses common in the first two years of the program that will fulfill both associate and bachelor’s degree requirements and transfer easily between participating institutions.

Intermediary work (Fall 2018/Winter 2019)

Between convenings, faculty will update direct equivalencies for transfer courses and develop program plans with the support of transfer liaison as the work to develop the statewide agreements advances.

MiTransfer Pathways Faculty Summit: Phase 2, Meeting 2 (May 14, 2019)

During these meetings, faculty groups will finalize the recommended program requirements of the statewide agreement for their program of study and discuss other non-course program requirements.

Draft articulation agreement and student-facing guide (Summer & Fall 2019)

Institutions will make adjustments necessary to execute their participation in the statewide agreements and prepare for implementation of the pathways.

Articulation agreement signing (Anticipated Fall 2019 or Spring 2020)

We anticipate signing the Phase II MiTransfer Pathways in Fall 2019 or Spring 2020.
